Justin DiCenzo – Certifyd™
Introduction
Justin DiCenzo is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer. Among his peers and colleagues he is well known for being able to pick up any instrument and understand how it works very quickly. Give him a couple of minutes with it and you will be hearing purely improvised music worthy of recording. “A strange talent” according to his professor Tsukitani Tsuneko at Osaka University. Justin began playing the trombone in elementary school; electric bass and euphonium in jr. high school then; contrabass, bass clarinet, bassoon, tuba, piano and guitar in high school then finally the flute after college. He graduated from Webster University with a degree in jazz studies on the upright bass and music technology for film scoring and studio recording.
In 2004 he received the research grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology(MEXT). He studied the juita style Koto and Shamisen in Osaka city. Working this talent he started to write his own music and created his first solo album ‘Made in Japan’. Currently, he’s working in Los Angeles on a 4th solo album of originals and on various projects with numerous artists. There is a lot of creative pressure behind these floodgates and we hope to see more of his work in the years to come.
